Moving forward with the effective implementation of climate commitments (NDCs) and compliance with the Paris Agreement, requires national frameworks that contemplate the roles and functions of all levels of government. On this path, it is essential to integrate the subnational levels in national climate policies, while giving them the possibility of contributing to policy development and the multi-level country governance process.

Santiago, Chile, October 19, 2018. Reflections on policies for sustainable urban mobility and the inequities that women experience in transport marked the participation of EUROCLIMA+ in the “Second Conference of Cities: Towards Safe, Affordable and Sustainable Mobility”, held at the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), in Santiago, Chile.

Euroclima is the European Union's flagship programme on environmental sustainability and climate change with Latin America. It aims to reduce the impact of climate change and its effects in Latin America by promoting climate change mitigation and adaptation through resilience and investment.
