EUROCLIMA+ PROMOTES CLIMATE ACTION IN LATIN AMERICA

Santiago de Chile, January 3, 2019

Promoting and facilitating cooperation and experience exchanges in the implementation of the NDCs of 18

Latin American countries participating in the EUROCLIMA+ Programme, is one of the main objectives of the initiative “Dialogue among Peers to Enhance the Implementation of their NDCs”, developed through a strategic alliance between the German Society for International Cooperation (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH, GIZ) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), with support from the AVINA Foundation, under its Climate Governance component.

To make progress on the fulfilment of this objective, on December 21, 2018, the initiative began a process known as “peer exchanges” in which organisations and entities from the 18 Latin American countries participating in the EUROCLIMA+ programme can participate. The main focus is on capacity-building for NDC implementation.

To access the application requirements and the “exchanges among peers” form, please contact the designated National Focal Point in each country.
