Indigenous consultation on the regulations of Peru's climate change law

Accompanying the process of consultation with the indigenous peoples of Peru, on the regulations of the Climate Change Law.

The aim of this action is to develop an intercultural dialogue between the State and indigenous or native peoples in order to reach an agreement on the administrative measures proposed within the framework of the Regulations of Law No. 39754, the Framework Law on Climate Change; and with this to contribute to the participation of indigenous or native peoples in the design and implementation of mitigation and adaptation measures under the framework of the NDC.

Expected Results

Inform

To inform and raise awareness among indigenous or native peoples about the reasons, implications and impacts of the administrative measures proposed under the Regulations of the Framework Law on Climate Change

Strengthen

To strengthen National Organisations representing Indigenous Peoples for the design and implementation of mitigation and adaptation measures under the framework of the NDCs.

Evaluate

To promote the informed assessment and analysis of the administrative measures proposed under the Regulations of the Framework Law on Climate Change by indigenous or native peoples through their representative institutions or organisations recognised by the Ministry of Culture.
