Strengthening Ecuador’s National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology for its efficient management and service provision adjusted to users’ needs

Generate and provide timely and reliable Hydrological and Meteorological information for decision making by authorities and the general public, in order to establish objectives and strategic actions that are sustainable over time and goals that are consistent with institutional operational capacity.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMHI) aims to contribute to the sustainable development of Ecuador through the reliable and timely provision of hydrological and meteorological data and information, strengthening actions related to scientifically determined warnings, predictions, data and information on weather, climate, water and air quality.

Diagnostic

To have a comprehensive institutional diagnosis of INAMHI, which allows for better decision-making by INAMHI's Board of Directors.

Technical Instrument

To have a technical management instrument that ensures the generation, management and transfer of hydrological and meteorological information, as a mechanism that will contribute to the development of the country, strengthening technical capacities and technological infrastructure.

Road map

To have a road map that allows the competent governing authorities to improve the management of INAMHI.

Lines of action

To derive lines of action from the diagnosis, for the preparation and implementation of actions that allow access to national and international financing, technical assistance and technology transfer.
