Katia Chacón is 16 years old and is president of the group "Jóvenes Unidos por el Medio Ambiente (Juma)" that was created by the project “Non-Carbon Related Benefits”, a project of the Forests, Biodiversity and Ecosystems sector of EUROCLIMA+ that has been in execution in Bolivia and Panama since April 2019 and is expected to conclude in December 2021.
As part of the actions promoted by this project, about 50 young people from Concepción and Lomerío (Bolivia) are being trained to learn about the traditional practices of the wise men and women in the various communities. This way they will learn more about the benefits of the forest and the importance of preserving them. More information about the Project HERE
