EUROCLIMA+ recognizes that climate change has varied effects on women and men, since they are exposed to different climate shocks and experience different impacts related to their genderdifferentiated roles, rights, and opportunities.
Therefore, EUROCLIMA+ addresses gender equality as one of its guiding principles. The event will be an opportunity to showcase national and subnational level experiences on how to construct gender-responsive climate change policy processes, and will highlight the efforts to strengthen regional processes for South-South-collaboration on gender, climate change and environmental conservation.
The event will be organised in two sections, a high-level one with representatives of the European Union, cooperation agencies and United Nations agencies, which will frame the conversation, and a panel discussion with government representatives and specialists in the field with the aim of:
● Sharing good practices for gender mainstreaming in climate action in the Latin American and Caribbean region based on initiatives promoted by EUROCLIMA+.
● Identifying barriers to carry out projects of this nature and strategies to overcome to implement climate actions with a gender perspective
● Exchanging reflections on key and inspiring elements of these initiatives that facilitate their incorporation into public policies.

Este primer encuentro de la serie de webinarios impulsados por Mujeres en Movimiento tiene por objetivo introducir la temática de género y movilidad desde la perspectiva latinoamericana, explorando ejemplos de políticas, proyectos e iniciativas para un sistema de transporte sensible al género y al empoderamiento de las mujeres en el sector."
Durante la conferencia virtual ‘Oportunidades para las mujeres en la industria automotriz eléctrica’, organizada por la plataforma Movilidad Eléctrica en Latinoamérica (Move), Nazareth señaló que la transición del vehículo de combustión interna hacia la electromovilidad, ayudará a disminuir la brecha de género en el sector del automotor; que durante mucho tiempo se conservó como uno meramente masculino.
El intercambio de experiencias entre los expertos en estos temas de interés, integrantes de organizaciones de jóvenes activistas y poblaciones indígenas, se dará a través de una serie de cuatro conversatorios virtuales, donde los diferentes puntos de vista servirán para analizar los actuales retos sociales y climáticos, con el fin de proponer soluciones efectivas para el desarrollo sostenible en Bolivia.
El webinar busca ofrecer un espacio para presentar y discutir las oportunidades y desafíos en la formulación e implementación de políticas de adaptación y mitigación del cambio climático que incluyan una perspectiva de género.
