The project Production in vulnerable regions presented its gender and climate change guide for the formulation of joint projects with Family Farming.

Date: September 10, 2020.

This was done in a webinar in which more than 60 leading figures from initiatives linked to programmes implemented by INTA Argentina and CIPAV (Colombia)

and financed by the European Community.

The webinar shared methodological tools and recommendations for including the gender perspective in climate change adaptation projects both in the collection and use of information, as well as in the creation of sensitive indicators, the promotion of participatory methods and in monitoring, evaluation and accountability.

The expert in Gender and Climate Change from EUROCLIMA+, Ana Rojas, explained why it is essential to build methodological tools that include the gender perspective in climate change adaptation projects.

Did you know that there are currently 194 sovereign states in the world recognised by the UN; but in only 28 countries do women have the same # property rights and access to land as men?

About 80% of the world's population is already suffering threats due to water shortages. Have you ever calculated the time women use to collect water in vulnerable areas? Worldwide they spend 200 million hours on these tasks.

These and other sensitive issues must be considered when formulating gender-sensitive environmental projects.
