Mitigation in Agriculture

Support to the formulation of Appropriate Mitigation Actions in Central American Agriculture.

The project agrees on Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) in the livestock and rice sectors in El Salvador and Panama respectively.

Objective

Strengthen national and regional capacities to achieve public-private ownership and consensus on the achievement of mitigation targets in Panama (rice) and El Salvador (cattle), catalysing actions for mitigation and cooperation between Central American countries towards low-carbon development according to the Central American Sustainable Climate-Adapted Agriculture Strategies and the NDCs.

Beneficiaries

  • 1500 people (10% women) including raising awareness to more than 700 people and 300 professionals and producers from the SICA region
