Update on the "Climate-Smart Family Farming" project in Honduras

9 June, Honduras - The EUROCLIMA+ project "Climate-Smart Family Farming" (AFCIPRA) published the June 2021 Newsletter, with interesting

information on how Honduran, Lenca and mestizo family farmers of coffee, basic grains and livestock are transforming their productive units and are now applying resilient food production practices thanks to the support of the project with: agricultural inputs, equipment, technical assistance and training.

It also provides information on strengthening the capacities of the leaders of the Rio Venado, Chiflador-Guaralape and Rio San Antonio micro-basin councils so that the implementation of climate actions is adjusted to the vulnerability analysis of the chains served by the project with a Watershed approach.

About AFCIPRA

The AFCIPRA project promotes resilient food production in 600 families from Lenca indigenous communities and the mestizo population, under a sustainable water resource management approach in the El Venado and Chiflador - Guaralape watersheds in Honduras.

It is implemented by the Netherlands Development Cooperation Service (SNV) and the Association for Integrated Watershed Management of La Paz and Comayagua, Honduras (ASOMAINCUPACO). Its strategic partner is the Centro Universitario Regional del Centro (CURC-UNAH) and its political counterparts are the Presidential Office for Climate Change of Honduras (Clima+) and the Ministry of Environment of Guatemala.
