MAP - PROJECT INTERVENTION AREAS

“The project creates an opportunity to strengthen abilities at the local level. It contributes to the achievement of national and international goals regarding the adaptation to climate change; EbA actions are implemented through the collaboration of stakeholders; and good practices are promoted, as well as intra-country and south-south dialogue.”
Alejandra Tenorio, Project Coordinator

"The communities, small rural landowners, indigenous groups of the Pataxó ethnic group, and citizens are direct beneficiaries of the project and also benefit from the ecosystem services that the Atlantic Forest promotes. The creation of a public policy containing EbA actions was developed together with different actors such as the government, municipalities and the private sector, which has made it possible to guarantee legal security and land management in these areas of action".
Mariana Gianiaki, project coordinator in Brazil.

RESULTS

EXCHANGE BETWEEN COUNTRIES

Brazil and Mexico shared methodologies and approaches in order to strengthen the adaptation component in their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) and highlight the EbA approach at the local level.
