Brazil aims to reduce emissions by 37% by 2025, mostly through changes in its land use and energy sectors. Like in many emerging economies, however, funding to meet these targets remains a challenge. In February, a group of public and private investors met for the first time in Rio de Janeiro to tackle this issue.

Costa Rica’s President Luis Guillermo Solis announced on Monday 16 January that the country was aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2021.

Producers from the regions of Huánuco, Ucayali and San Martín (Peru) were trained in identifying good practices, barriers and opportunities for small-scale agriculture that favors adaptation to climate change. The activity was part of the pilot case 'Resilience to climate change through technological conversion of family farming', that Peru is developing with the Technical Assistance of EUROCLIMA.
