EUROCLIMA results of the First Phase

The objective of the first phase of EUROCLIMA has been to improve the knowledge of Latin American decision-makers and scientists regarding the problems and consequences of climate change, in order to integrate them in sustainable development strategies.
Climate Change is a high priority for Latin American and Caribbean countries, as well as for the European Union, and therefore one of the key themes of the EU-LAC relations. The Santiago Declaration, outcome of the Summit celebrated in Chile, January 2013, reiterated the importance of climate change for both regions and recognized the EUROCLIMA programme’s accomplishments.

En los dos años transcurridos desde su inicio, en marzo del 2017, EUROCLIMA+ ha consolidado firmemente su posición como principal iniciativa de cooperación entre Europa y AL en cambio climático.
Aunque muchas de las acciones están iniciando, las dinámicas impulsadas hasta la fecha, las cuales dan seguimiento a los logros de las fases anteriores de EUROCLIMA (2007-2016), están permitiendo ya visualizar los resultados descritos en este informe de avance al 31 de marzo del 2019.
El Informe Anual 2023 del programa Euroclima destaca importantes avances hacia una transición verde y justa en América Latina y el Caribe.
EUROCLIMA+ apoya el desarrollo y la implementación de políticas de cambio climático en América Latina en el marco de las prioridades de cooperación regional. Bajo el marco de EUROCLIMA+, la Unión Europea y las principales agencias de cooperación bilateral europeas, junto con dos agencias de la Organización de Naciones Unida (ONU), colaboran con 18 países latinoamericanos para mejorar las políticas nacionales a fin de responder a los desafíos del desarrollo sostenible y contrarrestar los efectos del cambio climático.
The Annual Report 2022 of EUROCLIMA+ presents the key activities and progress of the EUROCLIMA+ programme for the year ending December 31, 2022.
El presente informe de capitalización abarca las diferentes reflexiones de este taller temático, completadas con aportaciones de la bibliografía y comentarios.
As every year, the partners of the EUROCLIMA+ Programme have met in the last quarter of 2022 to take stock of the results achieved and plan for the future. This year's Annual Meeting has been marked by the expansion of the Program to the Caribbean, increasing the number of partner countries from 19 to 33, and increasing its sectoral focus in the area of biodiversity and circular economy.
