The 2023 Annual Report of the Euroclima programme highlights substantial strides in fostering a green and just transition across Latin America and the Caribbean. Key achievements include progress in sustainable energy, climate resilience, and gender inclusion, aligning with the Global Gateway Investment Agenda and regional dialogues. Notably, the programme expanded to include Caribbean countries, bolstering regional cooperation on climate action and biodiversity. Euroclima’s impactful initiatives, such as support for renewable hydrogen at COP28 and establishing the Amazon Regional Platform of Indigenous Peoples, underscore its commitment to equitable, sustainable development across diverse sectors.

The objective of the first phase of EUROCLIMA has been to improve the knowledge of Latin American decision-makers and scientists regarding the problems and consequences of climate change, in order to integrate them in sustainable development strategies.
As every year, the partners of the EUROCLIMA+ Programme have met in the last quarter of 2022 to take stock of the results achieved and plan for the future. This year's Annual Meeting has been marked by the expansion of the Program to the Caribbean, increasing the number of partner countries from 19 to 33, and increasing its sectoral focus in the area of biodiversity and circular economy.
