The Regional Meeting on Climate Change and Gender Equality will be held virtually through various sessions throughout the month of September 2021.
These sessions will showcase experiences, good practices, challenges and opportunities for integrating gender equality into climate action in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and the roadmap of the Gender Action Plan 1 (GAP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The event is organized by the government of Chile, in its capacity as COP25 Presidency through its Ministries of Environment, Foreign Affairs, Women and Gender Equality, and is developed thanks to the support of the European Union, through its EUROCLIMA+ Program and the technical support of ECLAC as key strategic partners in climate action and to connect the dots between the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The project also has the collaboration of the EUROSOCIAL+ Program, United Nations System in Chile, and the financial contribution of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The meeting geared to national, regional and global decisionmakers, academia, the media and civil society. Reflection, discussion and sharing of experiences concerning the need to disaggregate, collect and process sex-disaggregated data on climate change to shed light on situations that impact differently on women and men and are currently invisible.

El evento tiene como objetivo compartir una guía sobre los elementos de género claves para los países que están a) actualizando sus NDC, b) diseñando nuevas políticas climáticas y/o c) desarrollando estrategias sectoriales para responder a los impactos climáticos. El programa Bájale al Acoso – un sistema de denuncia y judicialización de casos de acoso sexual en el transporte público en Quito, Ecuador, y la experiencia de Fortaleza, Brasil, con su aplicativo para denuncias NINA.
En el marco de la COP27 en Sharm El Sheik, en el Pabellón de Euroclima, el día temático dedicado a profundizar y poner en perspectiva la importancia del enfoque de género en el diseño de planes y políticas para una transición justa en la región de América Latina y el Caribe.
En la tercera edición del ciclo de webinar de la Red de Mujeres en Movimiento hablamos sobre cómo el género afecta el uso de la bicicleta para las mujeres, cómo se mueven las ciclistas actualmente y qué se debe hacer para lograr más mujeres en bicicleta.
