Regional Meeting Santiago, Chile 2017

Regional Meeting Santiago, Chile 2017

In the framework of the new EUROCLIMA+ Programme, the European Union supports Latin American countries in their efforts to formulate and implement climate change mitigation and adaptation policies by providing specialised services and promoting joint actions in key priority sectors.

The Santiago meeting will be the first comprehensive event where all EUROCLIMA+ stakeholders will have the opportunity to: (i) learn about the progress of the Programme in its effort to sustain LA policies on climate change; (ii) decide on future actions in the different components of the Programme to strengthen cooperation between Latin America and the European Union on shared climate change priorities, (iii) discuss possible synergies between EUROCLIMA+ and other sources of funding to support climate change related investments.

The meeting is organised by EUROCLIMA+ in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment of Chile and the Delegation of the European Union in Santiago and will take place at the Hotel ICON in Santiago de Chile on 11-13 October 2017.

In addition to invited representatives of Chilean and European organisations related to climate change, the meeting will be attended by two representatives from each Latin American country participating in EUROCLIMA+, designated by the respective Ministries of Environment. In addition, there will be representatives from the main Latin American and European development banks, as well as financial authorities from Latin America.
