IISD Food Security and Climate Change Initiative: Agriculture and Climate Change: Post-Durban issues for negotiatiors. The inclusion of text on agriculture in the Group's results Ad-hoc Working within the framework of the Convention (AWG-LCA), was an important outcome of the COP17 in December 2011.
This is the first time that agriculture has been "officially" recognized by the convention. This document examines the implications of the results of Durban, and reviews the pleadings in agriculture to the Secretariat for consideration by SBSTA. It concludes with the presentation of the critical issues that must be considered by the negotiators in the formation of a post-Durban program working in agriculture.
