Photographs: EUROCLIMA side event at COP22

The European Commission's Unit for Regional Operations Latin America continental and the Caribbean in EuropeAid organised a side event about EUROCLIMA+ in the COP22, focused on challenges and priorities in climate change adaptation and mitigation in Latin America.

The side event, titled "Towards enhanced climate action in Latin America", took place on Saturday 12 November 2016 at the EU Pavilion inside the COP venue in Marrakesh.

The event was attended by:

-      Jean-Paul JouliaEuropean Commission, DEVCO/G2 Head of Unit, Regional Operations Latin America continental and the Caribbean, EuropeAid;

-      Andrea Meza, Ministry of Environment of Costa Rica, Climate Change Director;

-      María Delgado, Ministry of Environment of Uruguay, External Relations and Cooperation Adviser;

-      Luis Miguel GalindoEconomic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Head of Climate Change Unit;

-      Philipp KnillGerman Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Head of Special Division on Climate Policies and Finance; and 

-      Pedro Flores UrbanoInternational and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), Director and 

-     Mercedes Sánchez PedrosaAgencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (AECID), Directorate of Cooperation with Latin America and The Caribbean, Head of the Cooperation Department with Central America, Mexico and The Caribbean.

More than 70 people participated, including representatives of governments, think tanks, non-governmental organizations and others.
