II Water Dialogues Latin America and Spain - Challenges for hydric security

 

On 6 September 2016, the CAF (Development Bank of Latin America) will organize the second edition of an annual event entitled ‘II Water Dialogues Latin America and Spain: Challenges for hydric security’ in Madrid, Spain.

The event will analize the knowledge on the management systems of water resources and the execution, and management of water infrastructure in the Latin America and Spain. Additionally, the event will deepen the sectoral dialogue on the current situation of these infrastructures among stakeholders.

Organizers involve leading public and private sector in Latin America and Spain, which will discuss what actions are the most effective for improving the management and financing of water infrastructure on both sides of the Atlantic, through a work program to boost and consolidate the results obtained. The goal of this event is to identify possible synergies and collaborations in studies for projects and technical assistance programs, training, research and technological development, and to discuss budgets and requirements for funding and managing these projects.

During the event, experiences and knowledge will be exchanged regarding water management and efficiency of the infrastructure. In addition, possible synergies and collaboration will be identified to develop technical assistance programs, training, research, and technological development. In addition, there will also be debates regarding budgets and requirements that are necessary to finance and manage projects.

The Water Dialogues are organized by CAF with the collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain.
