Las Soluciones basadas en la Naturaleza han tomado gran relevancia en el ámbito de la acción climática, y se han incorporado en los planes climáticos (las contribuciones determinadas a nivel nacional, conocidas como NDC - Nationally determined contributions - por sus siglas en inglés) de los países.
Desde el programa EUROCLIMA+ se propone una clasificación para identificar y categorizar las acciones climáticas en las NDC con enfoque de SbN; y se llevó a cabo un análisis de las NDC de 16 países que participan en el programa y que han presentado actualización de sus compromisos a junio de 2022.

This is not only because indigenous peoples receive relatively greater impacts resulting from the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss, but also because they possess traditional knowledge, technologies and practices for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
