Brussels, July 25, 2018. EUROCLIMA+, the European Union flagship program for climate change in Latin America, will hold three regional events within the framework of one of the components of the Climate Governance Program from July 30 to August 3.

According to the organizers, it was decided that the three events would be held in the same country in order to optimize resources, strengthen synergies between the institutions involved in coordination and enhance participant attendance in all the meetings.

The events are:

  • July 30-31. Community of Practice Start-up Workshop on the involvement of the private sector in climate policy processes in Latin America. Co-organized by the German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the Regional Platform LEDS LAC. Place: Hotel Cascada de las Ánimas, Cajón de Maipo, Chile. More information.
  • August 1 (in the morning). Community of Practice Session: Monitoring and Evaluation of Climate Policies. Co-organized by the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) and LEDS LAC. Place: Hotel Mercure, Santiago de Chile. More information. 
  • August 1 (in the afternoon) until August 3: First Dialogue between pairs of countries EUROCLIMA+ / VII Regional LEDS LAC Workshop. Co-organized by LEDS LAC, GIZ, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Avina Foundation. Location: ECLAC and Hotel Galerias Chile. More information. 

EUROCLIMA+ offers a wide range of specialized services aimed at supporting the implementation of commitments to the Paris Agreement in the field of climate governance, financing and technical assistance for the execution of projects with Latin American countries in: Forests, biodiversity and ecosystems; Energy efficiency; Water management with an urban resilience perspective; Management and reduction of disaster risk; Urban mobility and resilient food production.

The Program is implemented through the synergistic work of seven agencies: the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the French Development Agency (AFD), the Economic Commission for Latin America (ECLAC), Expertise France, the International and Ibero-American Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and UN Environment.
