The community of Practical Learning on Action for Climate Empowerment of the EUROLIMA+ programme began its exchange sessions among countries with Chile,
Costa Rica and Peru.
Madrid, 26 July.- In the framework of the Community of Practical Learning on Action for Climate Empowerment, the development of working groups based on experience exchanges and lessons learned has begun. These spaces, called Intersessions, aim to facilitate dialogue among peers to deepen learning and best practices in ACE in the region. It is a methodological approach that facilitates a closer, personalized, and task-oriented meeting to search for recommendations and key elements in public policies on ACE, and its potential in Climate Change mitigation and adaptation in the region.
Intersessions are based on collaborative work and mutual learning through shared experiences. The groups formed decide on the specific type of knowledge they are interested in deepening and work in partnership with other countries. These Intersessions will allow the fulfilment of several fundamental objectives of the CPL, which are study, research, best practices and reflection based on active listening and collective knowledge building.
The groups have the possibility to work under four different modalities: Training on topics relevant to the group, Exchange of best practices, exchanges among peers or homologues and case studies on a relevant practice for improving knowledge and capacities.
This week the intersessions of the group composed by the teams of the Ministry of Environment of Chile and the Ministry of Environment of Peru have started, which have contributed their experience and lessons learned on two topics identified by the teams to improve in their training on ACE.
In the case of Chile, in the session that took place on 15 July, the experience of the process for preparing their Development Strategies and Climate Empowerment Capacities was shared, whose objective is to make visible the design of the strategy process and its articulation with the long-term Climate Strategy.
For its part, Peru presented its knowledge and best practices in the incorporation of cross-cutting approaches in public climate policies with indigenous peoples on 23 July, focusing on transmitting the process and the methodology tested for the inclusion of indigenous peoples on the National Commission on Climate Change and the Indigenous Climate Platform, currently accompanied by the EUROCLIMA+ programme, through FIIAPP.
Both experiences will be developed in two sessions with a format of presentations and open and inclusive dialogue through generative questions among the participants, who will mainly be technical staff from both public bodies who will be joined by Costa Rica on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica (MINAE) for the ACE Strategy.
