EUROCLIMA attended the final Seminar of the CELA project

EUROCLIMA’s Technical Assistance Director gave a presentation on "EU-Latin American Cooperation on Climate Change: the EUROCLIMA initiative" in the Final Seminar of the project CELA, part of the ALFA III programme of the European Commission: Climate Change Technology Transfer Centres in Europe and Latin America (CELA), which took place in Hamburg, Germany, on November 4, 2013.

Besides keynote lectures from the European Commission, UNESCO and the EU Latin America Caribbean Foundation, the CELA project partners will present the results and outputs of the climate technology transfer projects.

Mr. Karremans explained that “one of the programmes strengths have been working with the Focal points, who are representatives of the governments of the 18 Latin American countries EUROCLIMA members”.

The Director of the Technical Assistance also presented the results of the first phase of the programme: more than 35 studies published or soon to be released, more tan 20 regional meetings promoted by the programme and capacity building for around 1000 government officials and scientists. Finally, Mr. Karremans emphasised that the future of the programme in its second phase will be “consolidation, innovation and impact”.
