During the roundtable "Engaging with Latin America and the Caribbean on Climate Change", Mr. Javier Becerra, Director General for Planning, Ministry of Environment and Water, Bolivia, gave a presentation on the "Adaptation and Management of Ecosystem Risks". The roundtable, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, on 16 and 17 october, had the objetive of advancing climate change policy dialogue among the two regions to identify concrete ways of cooperation.

Mr. Becerra's presentation, given during Theme 5 of the agenda "Ecosystems-based adaptation & Disaster risk reduction and management", touched upon the following topics:

1. Bolivia's institutional framework in face of climate change,
2. Joint Mechanism for Mitigation and Adaptation for Integrated Management of Forests and Mother Earth, and
3. Strategy for the Implementation of the Disaster Risk Management in Environment and Water Sector.
