Presentation: Regional Dialogue on Climate Change Finance in LAC

 

During the roundtable "Engaging with Latin America and the Caribbean on Climate Change", Ms. Carmen Arguello, Chief "Climate Finance Management Office", Ministry of Foreign Affairs, El Salvador, presented the "Regional Dialogue on Climate Finance in Latin America and the Caribbean". The roundtable, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, on 16 and 17 october, had the objetive of advancing climate change policy dialogue among the two regions to identify concrete ways of cooperation.

Ms. Arguello's presentation, given during the agenda's Theme 7 "Investment framework and financing instruments for cooperation on climate change in 2014 – 2020", touched upon the following topics:

1. State of play of climate financing in Latin America and the Caribbean;
2. The Dialogue on Climate Finance and its aims;
3, Interagency Scheme - National Dialogue;
4. Inter-organizational coordination on climate finance issues;
5. Diversification of financial instruments;
6. Harnessing the potential of the private sector to channel climate finance;
7. Conclusions at national, regional and global levels; and
8. Next Steps.
